He came to the United States when he was 25 years old and lived in this vicinity most of his life. He was married November 27, 1889 to Johanna Remmers who passed away March 21, 1939. Mr. Kray is survived by the following children: Mrs. Henry Lorenzen, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Martha Ulferts, Monticello; Mrs. Herman Brockholn, Scotch Grove; Mrs. Marion Starry, Ann Arbor, Mich.; John Kray, Monticello; Herman Kray, Davenport. He is also survived by a step-son, Martin Smith of Minnesota; thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A brother, George Kray, resides at Strawberry Point.
