Meade went to Gilman Friday evening, having received a telegram from his wife, who has been at Humeston, announcing the death of her sister, Mrs. Gertrude Ingersoll Evans, which occurred Friday morning. Mrs. Evans had been ill about six weeks, of quick consumption, and her death has been expected for the past two weeks. The body was sent to Gilman, where it arrived today, and the funeral will be conducted from the Congregational Church there on Sunday afternoon. Mrs. T.J. Stewart, of this city, a sister of Mrs. Evans, also went to Gilman Friday evening to attend the funeral. Mrs. Evans was a former Gilman girl, and at one time resided in this city. She was 24 years of age [apparently an error], and had been married only a little over a year. She leaves besides her husband, who is the Republican nominee of Wayne County for Recorder, her father, Amos Ingersoll, of Ellston; Mrs. Meade and Mrs. Stewart of this city, and Mrs. C.E.
