Description	:	Eloise Ruth Littlejohn, 95, of Mitchell, peacefully passed away Saturday, January 24, at the Mitchell Care Center. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 7, at the Federated Church in Mitchell with Pastor Bob Rose officiating. A private burial with family will be at the Mitchell City Cemetery prior to service time. A memorial has been established to the Federated Church, P.O. Box 305, Mitchell, Nebraska 69357. Eloise was born July 16, 1919 in Sioux County to Clyde and Mary (Gompert) Johnson, where she lived before moving with her family to a farm east of Mitchell. Eloise attended Mitchell Schools where she excelled in commercial courses, graduating in 1937. Following graduation, Eloise put her bookkeeping skills to good use at Whitmore’s Creamery and later as secretary to the Superintendent of Mitchell Public Schools. She married Elmer Littlejohn on January 2, 1939 and they lived for a short time in Redondo Beach, CA while he served in the Navy during WW II. The couple then moved back to Mitchell where they raised their three daughters. Eloise was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, American Legion Auxiliary, and a lifelong member of the Federated Church where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the C.C. Circle for many years. She will be remembered for her strong faith in God, her kindness to others, but most importantly as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Eloise is survived by her daughters and sons in law, Mary K and Craig Vejraska of Omak, Washington, Janet and Dave Royer of Spofford, NH, and Carol and Jeff Jones of Mitchell; sister, Eva Hilyard of Gering; brother, Clyde Johnson Jr. of Scottsbluff; grandchildren, Jason and Ryan (Carlan) Peppler, Jon and Kim Royer, Kalen (Olivia) and Levi Jones, Todd (Katlenia) and Scott Vejraska; great grandchildren, Jaxson and Henry Elmer Peppler, Kelsey, Kacie and Kady Vejraska, Caleb and Vance Nielson; and several nieces and nephews. Eloise was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Mary; husband, Elmer; sister, Elberta; and brothers, Edgar and infant Hermane.
