Elsie Charlotte Ericson, daughter of Henry and Lillie Lloyd Ericson, was born July 8, 1899, in the Rome community of Henry county, and departed from this life Monday morning, June 28, 1948. She grew to womanhood in the community of her birth, and on February 20, 1918, married Omer Gholson. They lived on farms in Henry county until they came to Mt. Pleasant in December of 1915. Mrs. Gholson is survived by her husband of Mt. Pleasant and five children: Mrs. Dale Eicher of Hillsboro; Mrs. Dorothy Mathews, Mrs. Vernon Leeper and Edwin of Mt. Pleasant; and Edward of Salem. Other survivors are four grandchildren; her parents, Mr and Mrs. Henry Ericson of Mt. Pleasant, and a brother, Bernard Ericson of Mt. Pleasant. Two brothers preceded her in death. Mrs. Gholson was a member of the Baptist church in Rome.
