He was born in Henry county Oct. 27, 1897, to George and Eliza Ann Haines Gholson. In 1949 he moved to Davis County and was affiliated with the Baptist Church. On Feb. 20, 1918, he married Elsie Erickson. She died in 1948. He married Nava Pence April 7, 1949.
