Description	:	Elsie Holland Motley, 88, went to her Heavenly Home on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Roman Eagle Memorial Home where she had been a patient for the past six months. She had been in declining health for the past eight years. Born on January 17, 1925, in Pittsylvania County, VA the daughter of the late Charlie Franklin Holland and Hattie Blanche Wells Holland. She was the caregiver for her parents until their death. She was a Charter member of Whitmell Christian Church where she taught Sunday School for fifty years and also served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years. Her devotion... She had been in declining health for the past eight years. Born on January 17, 1925, in Pittsylvania County, VA the daughter of the late Charlie Franklin Holland and Hattie Blanche Wells Holland. She was the caregiver for her parents until their death. She was a Charter member of Whitmell Christian Church where she taught Sunday School for fifty years and also served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years. Her devotion to her Lord was known by all who knew her. Survivors include her daughter, Linda Motley Adkerson, and son-in-law, Eddie, of Danville, VA; two granddaughters, Pamela Adkerson Booth, and husband, Gary, of Danville, VA; Susan Adkerson Adkins, and husband, Justin, of Cary, NC; four great-grandchildren, Gary Edward "Eddie" and Elena Linda Booth; Jack Harrison and Kate Holland Adkins; three sisters, Iva Jeane H. Barber, of Dry Fork, VA; Marie H. McNeely, of Chatham, VA; Elaine H. Cranford, of Greensboro, NC; one brother, Clarence Holland, and wife, Faye, of Dry Fork, VA; She was also survived by many Nieces and Nephews whom she loved very much. She was also survived by her wonderful caregivers for many years, Mildred Cumbo, Penny McGee, Jackie Dodson, and Shirley Fitzgerald. The family would also like to express their gratitude for the loving care given to her on the Garden Terrace at Roman Eagle. She was predeceased by one sister, Lois H. Allen, five brothers, John T., Kermit, Clyde, Carroll, and Kenneth "Doc" Holland. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. from the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel conducted by the Rev. Tim Oakes. Interment will follow in the Wells Family Cemetery in Callands, VA.
