Elsie Ellen Newburn was born August 13, 1877 at Vermillion, Illinois and departed this life in Omaha on January 10, 1946, at the age of 68 years, 4 months and 28 days. She came to Nebraska at an early age, making her home in Saline County, where she continued to live during most of her life. On February 16, 1896, she was united in marriage to Edmund Keep of Pleasant Hill. To this union were born seven children, three sons and four daughters. One son died at the age of three, and Mr. Keep preceded his wife in death in 1932. During three of the past five years of her ill health, Mrs. Keep had been making her home in the state of Washington with her two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Kilmore and Mrs. Pauline Dorsey. Upon returning to Nebraska, she went to live with another daughter, Mrs. Hallie Reiss. Mrs. Keep entered a hospital on December 22nd. She was a kind, loving mother, always giving her family a primary place in her affection. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Hazel Kilmore of Spanaway, Washington, Mrs. Alma Reiss of San Diego, California, Mrs. Pauline Dorsey of Bremerton, Washington and Mrs. Hallie Reiss of Omaha; two sons, Reubon F. of Idiantown Gap, Penensylvania and Louis of Tacoma, Washington; and a brother, Harley Newburn of Crete; and twelve grandchildren.
