Elsie was 76 years old and passed away Friday evening, Aug. 29, 2008. She had been suffering from cancer for a while when she decided that it was her time to meet the Lord. We were all sad for the loss of our mother, grandmother, sister and friend, but we knew she had gone to a better place. Elsie worked many different jobs, mostly in the food industries. She was a great mom and a wonderful grandma who loved to cook and do different arts and crafts. She loved being with her family and coming home on holidays. Elsie is survived by two daughters, Sherrell Dillard and Lori Vogilie; two sons, Richard and Doug Dillard; grandchildren, Shannon Dillard, Rita Kuhlman, Isaac Kuhlman and J.D Kuhlman; great-granddaughters, Aleese Maire and Jociea Kuhlman; sisters, Glendora Sayler and Leora Sayler; brother Ervin Sayler; and several nieces and nephews. Elsie will be joining her husband, Harvey Dillard; mother Karoline Sayler; father Solomon Sayler; sisters Frieda LaFrey, Eva LaFrey and Helen Clark; and her brother, Ruben Sayler. Elsie will be missed by so many, and for those who weren't, mentioned you know that she loved you, and you all have your special times you will never forget. For the love we have today will not be forgotten tomorrow, so hold on to every minute you have here. Remember that when you feel forgotten, someone somewhere is thinking about you and wishing you all the love in the world. So hold on tight, life can be rough but it can also be wonderful in so many ways. Take time to smell the roses and tell the people you love that you love them, for you never know when you will see them again. Visitations will begin Wednesday, Sept. 3, at the Smith Downtown Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 5, at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Smith Downtown Chapel is assisting with arrangements. =============================
