Elsie Blair was born August 21, 1915, the daughter of Emil and Ida (Schultze) Baumann at Plainview. She was baptized at Plainview September 19, 1915 in Zion Lutheran Church in Plainview and attended Zion Lutheran Parochial School. She was confirmed there March 29, 1931 and graduated from Plainview High School in 1932. She married Raymond Blair, March 1, 1962 in Las Vegas, NV. She was an acting postmaster at Brunswick and a rural mail carrier. She owned and operated Elsie's Beauty Salon in Creighton for more than 40 years. She was a member of the Creighton Chamber of Commerce and a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Chruch in Plainview. Survivors include her husband, Raymond, of Creighton; one son, Wallace and wife, Sue Howell of Omaha; two daughters, Barbara Staples of Champaign, IL and Mrs. Ralph (Carolyn) Buss of Plainview; a stepson, Joseph Blair of Omaha; a brother, Arthur Baumann of Phoenix, AZ; two sisters, Mrs. Allen (Lillian) Sherwood of Frankfort, KY and Mrs. Delbert (Esther) Frahm of Plainview; 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
