Silently, reverently, he envelops the tired form, shrouding it in quiet, eternal slumber, while the angels carry the soul to the throne of God where the words of praise to the faithful are spoken. As we view the remains of loved ones called before, we should always bear in mind that He who doeth all things well is the architect of the soul, the builder of that Elysium city where saints immortal dwell - has but spoken peace, endless peace, to the world traveler. Mrs. F. A. Greatsinger, Elsie M. Huffman, beloved wife of F. A. Greatsinger of near Armel, departed this life Monday evening, March 18, 1907, after an illness extending from the holidays, age 71 years. At that time she was taken with pneumonia, which, owing to the infirmities of age, would not subdue. All these weeks she has been a patient sufferer, her cheerful, peaceful disposition responding happily to the efforts the hands of loving relatives and neighbors made to restore her to health, and as they watched and administered and hope, this beautiful life was slipping farther and farther away, a higher power having come to claim his own and last Monday night the tired hands folded and the body fell peacefully asleep as the soul returned to God who gave it. Mrs. Greatsinger was born in New York. In early life she gave her heart to God and her labors to her church and her neighbors, and in all these years she has not once faltered in her faith, nor turned from the path of duty, nor from loving ministration or tender sympathy, her life daily becoming more and more like that of her Master in whose footsteps she followed. Her noble character and and her constant effort to be a ray of sunshine, which she so signally was, endeared her to all who knew her, and especially to children for whom she had a particular fondness, her tender nature responding spontaneously to the trials and cares of the little ones. In 1889, in that part of then Arapahoe County that is now Yuma County, she was united in marriage to F. A. Greatsinger, and a most happy union it proved, their splendid marital life being a model of happiness and blessing, not alone to themselves, but to their neighbors as well. During her residence of 21 years in Arapaho-Yuma County, and for some time prior, Mrs. Greatsinger had given her labor to the M.E.Church and was a faithful member in all of its tenets. Twice she was a delegate to the annual conference. By her demise, she has bereft a loving husband, whose horizon is now overcast with grief, four children living, and six grandchildren, who privileged to be present a the funeral which will be held at the home this afternoon, conducted by her pastor, Rev. George H. Manning of Vernon. The services will be attended by a large concourse of people, friends and neighbors of the beloved one who has [gone] on before, many going out from Wray to pay their last respects. By her death, the stricken husband loses a companion in whom his very existence was wrapped, the children a mother whose first thought and care was for their welfare; the neighbors, who in all these years had learned to love her, lose a friend who was not only a friend apparently, but a friend of deeds, love and truth, and one whose prayers are still beseeching the throne of grace for their well-being and happiness; the church to which she belonged, and the other churches as well, lose a supporter whose regal religious life was always a potent influence for good. Her taking away leaves an abyss of sorrow and grief, but the grace of God is sufficient unto all things and his sustaining power is the one true source of consolation. His strength will never falter to those who lean on His everlasting arms, as did the one who has been called from the vineyard and harvest to the Haven of Rest.
