Read More	Elsie Trueblood, 82, Garrison, died on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at the Garrison Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Elsie Mae was born April 18, 1935 in Regan, ND to Conrad and Martha (Bender) Hieb. Elsie’s father was a farm hand so the family moved from farm to farm often. She attended most of her schooling in LaMoure, ND and Grand Rapids, ND. Even as a young woman, Elsie was always a hard worker. Whether it be raking hay for her dad, babysitting, or waitressing, she did what she needed to make her own way. In October of 1951, Elsie met Loren Trueblood, the man she would spend the next 65 years with as his wife. They were married in July of 1952 at LaMoure Trinity Lutheran Church. They made their home in Garrison and raised their three children. While raising their family, Elsie cleaned homes as well as Ottertail and NW Bell Telephone. When her children were older, she went to work for the McLean County Independent in 1974. She spent 23 years at the Independent, doing whatever job they asked her to do. Elsie retired in April of 1997. Elsie had a personality that few will forget. She was never one to mix words and you always knew where you stood with her. The only people that could get away with anything were her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, whom she loved and adored. She always kept herself busy, spending many hours of cutting and sewing, especially making quilt tops for St. Paul Lutheran Church. She enjoyed outdoor scenery, taking drives to the cabin in the spring to watch the baby geese, or just watching the bird feeder out of the picture window of their house. She also enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins games and all the date nights with Loren watching “Molly B”. She was very well known for making the best kuchen and potato salad. Elsie is survived by her husband, Loren, Garrison; daughter, Candace (Glenn Schreiner), Max, sons, Gary (Pamela), and Don (Bonnie), all of Minot; grandchildren; Amy (Chad) Betz and their children, Alexis and Ethan, Angela (Kyle) Hegre and their daughter, Abby, Cassie (Derick) Seibel, Eric (Jaime) Trueblood and their daughter, Berit, Adam (Marisa) Trueblood and their son, Oakley, step grandchildren, Tanner Hegre, McAyla (Ian) Thompson, Jenn (Jon) Dingmann and their children Ty and Molly, Angie (Jay) Roles and their daughter, Tatum, and Nick Schreiner; siblings, Fred “Fritz”, Clayton and Melvin Hieb; in-laws, Carol Hieb, Lois Hieb, Peggy Hieb, Loretta Hieb, Mary Beth Hieb, Celeste Berger, Howard and Jean Trueblood, Myron and Patsy Trueblood, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, great grandson, Jamison Betz, brothers and sisters-in-law, George (Lila) Hieb, Ted (Hattie) Hieb, Edwin Hieb, John (Toby) Hieb, Walter Hieb, sisters and brothers-in-law, Lorena (Clayton) Pudwill, Hertha (Elmer) Mayer, Alvina (Gordon) Peterson, and Ester (Edmund) Loebs.
