Description	:	Minneapolis Messenger, July 18, 1974, page 20: Elsie Maude Sechrist, the daughter of Humphrey C. and Mary Ann Leeds McLaughlin, was born on February 9, 1885, in the Ada community and died on July 15, 1974, at the Ottawa County Hospital at the age of 89 years, five months and six days. She had been in the hospital since December 26, 1971. Mrs. Sechrist was married to Daniel Oliver Sechrist in September of 1906 in Ada. Their entire married life was spent in that community. She had been in the hospital since December 26, 1971. Mrs. Sechrist was married to Daniel Oliver Sechrist in September of 1906 in Ada. Their entire married life was spent in that community. Mr. Sechrist preceded her in death on February 16, 1948. Mrs. Sechrist had made her home in Minneapolis since 1950. She was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church in Ada and V.F.W. Auxiliary in Minneapolis. She is survived by one son, Willard and his wife of Delphos; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Sidener of Minneapolis and Mrs. Wilma Bearley and her husband, also of Minneapolis; and six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Sechrist were held on Wednesday morning at 10:00, July 17, 1974, at the Antioch Baptist Church in Ada with the Rev. Maynard Falk officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Allen and Mrs. Jack Shafer provided special music. Pallbearers were Gerald Sechrist, Merlin Peterson, Lee Bradbury, Delmar Hogarty, Larry Baccus, and Ron McCullick. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery in Ada. Hawks Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. The family has suggested memorials may be given to the Antioch Baptist Church or the Ottawa County Hospital.
