Description	:	Elsie May “Dolly” Ferrill, the daughter of Benjamin and Elsie (Goodspeed) Ferrill, was born in Fayette County, Iowa, November 16, 1878. In 1883 her father took a homestead and moved his family to Dakota Territory. Their new farm was in Pleasant Valley Township of Hand County, about twenty miles south of what is now Miller, South Dakota. Read More	Elsie May “Dolly” Ferrill, the daughter of Benjamin and Elsie (Goodspeed) Ferrill, was born in Fayette County, Iowa, November 16, 1878. In 1883 her father took a homestead and moved his family to Dakota Territory. She married William Alonzo Crawford in 1900 and they had three children, Alonzo, Myrtle, and William. Dolly died June 30, 1906, and is buried in the Riverside Cemetery in Aberdeen. (obituary, Aberdeen Daily News, Aberdeen, SD, July 5, 1906) CORTLANDT This community was shocked by the sudden death of Mrs. W. A. Crawford, which occurred at her home four miles northwest of Mina, on Saturday morning, June 30, at 7:30 o’clock. Only her husband and two small children and a few friends were with her at the time of her death, her father and mother and little son Alonzo being at Dean post office, S.D. Funeral services were held at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. T. Ferrill, on Tuesday, July 3d, at 10:30 o’clock a. m. Services were conducted by Dr. J. M. Campbell of Aberdeen. Interment was in Riverside cemetery. The relatives present from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Coons, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Goodspeed of Iowa, Mrs. Lizzie Parmely, Arthur Parmely and Mrs. Minnie Dearborn of Hand county. Dolly May Ferrill was born in Fayette county, Iowa, on November 16, 1878. At the age of 5 years she moved with her parents to Hand county, S. D. where she resided for ten years. In 1894 she came to Mina with her parents and resided with them until her marriage to William Alonzo Crawford on October 3, 1900. Mrs. Crawford was beloved by all who knew her. She leaves a loving husband, three small children, father and mother and a host of relatives and friends to mourn her loss.
