She was born January 1, 1912, in Orson, Iowa, to John and Delila (Plummer) Lizer. She attended Coffman School in Orson. She moved to Woodbine. She farmed with her husband in the Woodbine, Mondamin, and Beebeetown areas. In 1976 they moved to Missouri Valley. She was a member of the Federated Garden Club of Iowa. She was born January 1, 1912, in Orson, Iowa, to John and Delila (Plummer) Lizer. She attended Coffman School in Orson. She moved to Woodbine. She farmed with her husband in the Woodbine, Mondamin, and Beebeetown areas. In 1976 they moved to Missouri Valley. She was a member of the Federated Garden Club of Iowa. Mrs. Young and her husband, Howard, were married 73 years. Survivors in addition to her husband include two daughters, Rita Bean and husband, Everett, of Little Sioux and Deanna Small and husband, Richard, of Magnolia; one son, David, and wife, Joyce, of Creston; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren. A prayer service will be Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Fouts Funeral Home in Woodbine. The funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Community of Christ Church in Missouri Valley with the Rev.
