A daughter of the late George M. and Hattie Ocheltree, she was born Nov. 11, 1884 in Poweshiek County near Deep River, Iowa. Read More	Source: The Victor Record 11/22/1962 SERVICES HELD FOR MRS. ELVA LEPLEY Elva Etta Lepley, 78, passed away at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14 at the Memorial hospital in Marengo. A daughter of the late George M. and Hattie Ocheltree, she was born Nov. 11, 1884 in Poweshiek County near Deep River, Iowa. Graduated from Victor High School in 1903, she taught rural schools prior to her marriage to Mern. C. Lepely in 1908, who preceded her in death in 1915. After the death of her husband she spent several years teaching in the Victor Public School. She was a member of the First Methodist Church, the Order of Eastern Star, Victor Women's Club, and also helped organize the Victor Public Library, serving as librarian until recently. Survivors include one son, Sylvan C. Lepley of Norwalk, CT., sisters and brothers, Mrs. Bertha Price, Mrs. Lena Mikesell, Vern Ocheltree, all of Victor, Mrs. Emma Rossman, Aitkin, MN., Mrs. Bernice Ormiston, Hartwick, Mrs. Margaret Lanning, Denver, CO., and Chalmer Ocheltree, Elgin, IL. Preceding her in death were a sister, Mrs. Ethel Paeper, and two brothers, Loren Ocheltree and Robert Ocheltree. Funeral services were held at the First Methodist church, Friday, Nov. 16 at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Robert D. Bowers officiating. Two organ solos were played by Mrs. G. W. Rieke. Caring for the flowers were Mrs. Ed Bushnell and Miss Martha Muller. Pallbearers were Horace Wahl, H. Art Schwiebert, Hollis Fish, Thomas Bowman, C. D. McAninch and R. M. Cavanaugh. Burial was in the Victor I.O.O.F. cemetery.
