Description	:	Following a lengthy illness, Elvin Fincher of rural Sioux Falls died in Sioux Valley Hospital on Monday afternoon, Aug. 29, 1988. He attained the age of 64 years, seven months and 13 days. Mr. Fincher was born on a farm northwest of Chancellor on Jan. 16, 1924, the son of Frank and Teddie (Hilbrands) Fincher. Mr. Fincher was born on a farm northwest of Chancellor on Jan. 16, 1924, the son of Frank and Teddie (Hilbrands) Fincher. He attended Dist. #3 rural school in Turner County and grew to manhood there. On Jun. 17, 1949 he was united in marriage to Matilda Flitz at Lennox, SD. The couple located on a farm near Sioux Falls and there farmed for nearly 30 years. He retired in 1978, however continued to make his home on the farm. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers: Mike, Egge, Henry and Hiko Fincher, three sisters: Effie Butenschoen, Mary Javers, and twin sister Ella Krumbach. Deceased is survived by his widow; one son, Allen Fincher, Sioux Falls; one daughter, Mrs. Lendall (Marlene) Geiken, Lennox; eight grandchildren; special friend and neighbor, Harvey Rehfeldt; three brothers: Nick, Frank and Sam Fincher, Chancellor; three sisters: Elizabeth Klinghagen of Clara City, MN, Rosezena Klinghagen of Harrisburg, and Mrs Leo (Katie) Butenschoen, Sioux Falls.
