She was born July 6, 1904 in Israel Township, a daughter of Oliver McLoed and Clara Elvra Smith Wright. She was a graduate of Israel Township Schools and Muskingum College and did graduate work at the University of Cincinnati, University of Florida, and the Beirut College for Women in Beirut, Lebanon. She began her teaching career at Campbellstown School in Preble County, and taught at Hubbard (Ohio) High School and retired after many years of teaching special... Read More	Elvira C. Wright. 83, of 10885 Ohio 177, Morning Sun died Monday evening, June 27, at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford. She was born July 6, 1904 in Israel Township, a daughter of Oliver McLoed and Clara Elvra Smith Wright. She was a graduate of Israel Township Schools and Muskingum College and did graduate work at the University of Cincinnati, University of Florida, and the Beirut College for Women in Beirut, Lebanon. She began her teaching career at Campbellstown School in Preble County, and taught at Hubbard (Ohio) High School and retired after many years of teaching special education in Warren (Ohio) Schools. She was a longtime member of the OEA executive committee and a recipient of many honors in the field of education. She was a member of the Morning Sun Presbyterian Church, where she was an elder, a Sunday school teacher and member and a member of the UPW Association; Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority; Oxford Caroline Scott Chapter of DAR; Monday Club; Terra Garden Club; College Corner FFF; Oxford Senior Citizens; Preble County Retired Teachers Association; Mt. Pleasant Home Auxiliary; Preble County Historical Society; and Miami Presbyterial Mission Advocates. Survivors 15 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Harry, John, Homer, and Robert, and four sisters, Martha McCreary, Helen Paxton, Laura, and Mary Wright. Following cremation a memorial service will be held at l p.m. Saturday, July 2, at the Morning Sun Presbyterian Church with the Rev.Robert Foster officiating. Burial will follow in College Cornerer Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon-1 p.m. Sunday at the church. Memorial contributions may be ti the Morning Sun Presbyterian Church.
