Pohlmeier on November 12, 1940 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lawrence. Together they farmed southeast of Lawrence until retiring in 1982. After retirement they moved into Lawrence. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Sacred Heart Altar Society. Elvira is survived by sons: Father Loren Pohlmeier, Ogalla, Allen Pohlmeier, Superior, Dan & wife Marsha Pohlmeier, Glenvil, Lyle & wife Marsha Pohlmeier, Lawrence; daughters: Jane Harper, Lincoln, Kathy & husband Don Court, Houston, TX; (9) Grandchildren, (7) Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Harold; son-in-law Joel Harper; brother Lawrence Bolte and sister Loretta Reiman. Rosary was held Monday, October 13, 2014, and Funeral Services were held Tuesday, October 14, 2014, both at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lawrence. The Mass of Christian burial was con-celebrated by Father Thomas Bush and Father Loren Pohlmeier along with 8 brother priests from the Grand Island diocese where Father Pohlmeier is a retired pastor. Assisting with the Funeral services were Mary Lou Pohlmeier as organist and Michelle Mans as Song Leader, Larry Hrvanek was the Lector and three granddaughters carried the gifts to the altar for the Mass. Pallbearers were Greg Pohlmeier, Jeff Mans, Adam Pohlmeier, Cody Mans, Jason Pohlmeier, Kyle Mans. Burial was in Sacred Heart parish cemetery east of Lawrence. Memorials can be directed to the church. Merten-Butler Mortuary, Blue Hill, Nebraska was in charge of arrangements.
