Description	:	Funeral services for Elzira Bentz, age 90 of Elgin, will be held at 10:00 a.m. MT Monday, March 22, 2010 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Elgin. Pastor John Amundson will officiate with burial in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. A family service will be held 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evening at the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home. Serving as Honorary Casketbearers are Nanhnette, and Stacia Bentz, and Jessi Veitz, Savannah and Ashleigh Miller, Jacob, Zachary, Emily, and Andrew Bentz. ELZIRA GRACE LOVELL was born May 25, 1919 on the family farm north of Keldron in Sioux County, ND to William and Margaret (Kohn) Lovell. She grew up on the family farm and attended a local country school near her home. Elzira graduated from Elgin High School in 1939. She taught in a rural country school for 7 months. She was united in marriage to August Bentz on October 10, 1942 at Wibaux, MT. Following their marriage, they lived on the Bentz family farm. In 1945, they purchased the farm and raised cattle, hogs and grain. They were blessed with five children, Roger, Vernon Lee, Ira, Darla, and Darvin. In 1979, they retired and moved into Elgin where their sons built them a home. Her husband passed away on October 9, 1995. Elzira continued to live in Elgin and when her health began to fail, she resided at Dakota Hills and the Jacobson Memorial Care Center. Elzira passed away on Wednesday afternoon, March 17, 2010 at the Jacobson Memorial Care Center in Elgin at the age of 90 years, 9 months, 22 days. She enjoyed gardening and embroidering. Elzira will be missed by her 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Ira and Marge (McDowall) Bentz, Carson, ND; Darvin and Robin (Meidinger) Bentz, Elgin, ND, Donna (Well) Bentz, Paso Robles, CA; 7 grandchildren and their spouses, Jason and Stephanie (Unruh) Bentz, Steve and Jessi (Bentz) Veitz, Matthew and Nikki (Werth) Bentz, Cody and Jill Miller, Nanhnette and Stacia Bentz, her 9 great grandchildren, Kelsie and Justin Bentz, Kyle Veitz, Jacob, Zachary, Emily, and Andrew Bentz, Savannah and Ashleigh Miller, and 1 sister, Frances Brackel, Dickinson, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, August, sons, Roger Bentz, her infant son Vernon Lee Bentz , daughter, Darla Miller, brothers, Bryan and George Lovell, and sisters, Margaret Lenske, Betty Ryan, Ione Kinney, Dorothy Voigt, and Marcella Myhre. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:00 to 7:00pm at Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Elgin and on Monday one hour prior to services at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.
