Description	:	Mrs. Emaline Osborn Hardy, daughter of Elijah and Catherine Osborn, was born October 4th, 1854 in Richland Township, Defiance Co., O., and departed this life March 22nd, 1947, thus attaining the age of 92 years, 5 months and 18 days, Infirmities of age was the cause of death. She was united in marriage to Andrew Hardy on Feb. 5th, 1872. To this union ten children were born, five of whom with her husband, preceded her in death. He last days were spent in the home of her son Charles Hardy, 1310 Ayersville Ave. Mrs. Hardy chose the United Brethren Church at Jewell as her church home and was baptized and received into the church membership in the year of 1895. She lived her entire life in Defiance county and after the death of her husband on January 3rd, 1894 she took upon herself the entire responsibility of the managing of the farm and devoted herself unreservedly to the careful rearing of her children, nine of whom lived and were guided carefully until of ages when they could step out into the world and do for themselves. One son died in infancy. Mrs. Hardy leaves, besides the surviving children, 48 grandchildren, 102 great grandchildren and nine great great-grandchildren.
