Description	:	Emerson Lambier Marr, 83, a Wenatchee area resident for over 80 years and longtime cherry orchardist, went to be with his Lord on June 14, 2006, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was born to Wilbur and Zella (Zimmerman) Marr on April 17, 1923, in East Wenatchee. He was born to Wilbur and Zella (Zimmerman) Marr on April 17, 1923, in East Wenatchee. He was married to Katherine "Katy" "Kathy" Singer on March 21, 1987, in Wenatchee, following a 17 year courtship. After graduation from high school, Emerson worked as a Carpenter in Seattle from August of 1941, to September of 1942, and worked at the Holden Mines during the winter of 1942. He returned to East Wenatchee to take over the operation of the family orchards. Emerson had been a cherry orchardist in East Wenatchee for most of his life and was a Washington State Fruit Inspector from 1947 to 1958. He continued orcharding until retiring and allowing a nephew to farm the land. They have made their home in Wenatchee together for the last 19 years. Emerson was a gifted vocalist, his tenor voice was his real true joy. He sang in the Calvary Bible Church Choir, Apollo Club, the Extra Fancies Quartet and for many years with the Columbia Basinaires Barbershop Chorus. He was a longtime member of the Calvary Bible Church and a member of the East Wenatchee Grange for over 50 years. He is survived by his wife, Katherine at home; three sisters, Edna McCandlish Standerfer of Wenatchee, Ethel Turnipseed and Mrs. Peggy (Ronald) Duncan both of East Wenatchee; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Sally (Steven) Siegle of Odessa and Mrs. Sherry (Tom) Johnson of Wauconda, WA; one brother-in-law, James (Linda) Singer of Danville, WA; nine nephews, Michael (Nancy) McCandlish of Bothel, Jim (Helga) Marr, Lorne (Jo) McCandlish and Todd (Ronda) Duncan all of Wenatchee, Greg (Cheryl) Duncan and Burt (Andrea) Duncan all of East Wenatchee, Roland (Jennifer) Singer of Odessa, David (Kate) Johnson and Gary (Cheryl) Johnson both of Wauconda, WA; eleven nieces, Janice (Jerry) Gross and Nancy (Bob) VanHoven both of Wenatchee, Marlene (Dan) Davies, Joan (Roy) Hinderer, Karen Turnipseed, Mary (Tom) Gash, Jenni Crump, and Lisa Ottosen all of East Wenatchee, Cheryl (Doug) Mehl of Castle Rock, CO, and Dawn (Kris) Nelson of Creston, WA; and three generations of great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; mother and step-father; his mother-in-law and father-in-law; one sister; one brother; four brothers-in-law; two nephews; one great-niece; and one great-great-niece. Commemoration Services will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Bible Church, 605 1st Street, Wenatchee, with Rev. Stephen Whitney officiating. Concluding Services and the Entombment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Calvary Bible Church Memorial Fund, C.W.H. Hospice or the charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee. Emerson is also survived by a niece, Mrs. Marsha (Ed) Giertz of Sumner and his nephew, Gary Johnson of Waucanda.
