Description	:	A pioneer resident of Crawford county who had been in failing health for a number of years, died Dec 13, 1962, due to a heart attack at the age of 83, at the Crawford County Memorial hospital. Emil H Jaacks, son of Henry Jaacks and Minnie Harder, was born in Goodrich township February 19, 1879. He lived on the same farm where he was born, assisting his parents until his marriage. Emil H Jaacks, son of Henry Jaacks and Minnie Harder, was born in Goodrich township February 19, 1879. He lived on the same farm where he was born, assisting his parents until his marriage. He was married to Rosa Hildebrandt March 22, 1905, by the late Rev. William Frese. To this marriage were born three children. Mr and Mrs Jaacks made their home on the farm until their retirement to Denison in April of 1933. They were privileged to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary March 22, 1955. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Survivors are the widow, two sons, Henry and Walter, of Goodrich township, one daughter, Sophie, (Mrs. Vernon Schroeder) of Hanover township; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. One brother, Herman, and one sister, Lizzie (Mrs. Alfred Meggers) and one grandchild preceded him in death. Funeral services were held December 17, 1962 at 2 o’clock at the Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. C.W. Schmidt officiating. Interment was made at the Oakland cemetery. Pallbearers were Henry Eggert, Eddie Eggert, Harold Eggert, Meinhardt Jaacks, Eddie Meggers, and Emil Meggers.
