Description	:	EMERSON, Neb. -- Emil P. Bottger, 91, of Emerson passed away Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, at Providence Medical Center in Wayne, Neb. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emerson, with the Rev. Michael Malloy officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Emerson. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church with a Scriptural wake service at 7 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City. Emil was born Dec. 6, 1917, in Emerson, the son of Rudolph and Emma (Andresen) Bottger. He graduated from high school. He married Helen C. Heeney Oct. 16, 1940, in Hubbard, Neb. He was a line superintendent for Northeast Nebraska Public Power District for 34 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emerson. Survivors include a son, Robert and his wife Darlene Bottger of Antioch, Calif.; two daughters, Judith and her husband Paul Predoehl of Lumas, Calif., Kathy Lienemann of Carthage, Ind.; a sister, Elsie Morgan of South Sioux City; a sister-in-law, Ann Bottger of Emerson; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen on Jan. 22, 2002 in Wayne, Neb.; two brothers; and five sisters. ..Sioux City IA Journal 20OCT2009
