Description	:	Funeral services for Emil R. Hass, Sr., 79, of Valley City, were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 13 (today) at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Ray Heidtke and Intern Kent Groethe officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery. He died in a local hospital Friday, April 10, 1987. Pallbearers were his grandsons. Emil Rudolph Hass was born May 17, 1907, at LaMoure, ND, the son of Fred and Lena Hass. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith there. Emil Rudolph Hass was born May 17, 1907, at LaMoure, ND, the son of Fred and Lena Hass. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith there. In 1910, the family moved to a farm in Ashtabula Township, Barnes County. He attended Alderman School and graduated form Getchell High School. He was confirmed in Trinity Lutheran Church. On January 28, 1928, he married Evelyn Ferguson in Valley City. He lived on the farm until 1967, when they moved to Valley City. He continued to help farm until 1986. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and had been a member of the school board. He had served on the Agricultural Adjustment Committee (AAA) for 15 years and was chairman for several years. He had served as township assessor from 1935-1960. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; a son and three daughters, Emil Jr., rural Valley City; Eleanor (Mrs. Don) Senrick, Farmington, MN; Arlene (Mrs. Alan) Froemke, Lisbon; and JoAnn (Mrs. Dale) Korf, Valley City; two brothers and two sisters, Edward, Salt Lake City, Utah; Paul, Portland, OR; Anna (Mrs. Alfred) Dickhoff and Freda (Mrs. Harold) Whetzel, both Valley City; and 22 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, a brother, three sisters and three grandchildren. Published in the Valley City Times-Record, Valley City, North Dakota, April 13, 1987.
