The funeral services of Emil Samuel Freeburg were held Wednesday afternoon in the Methodist Episcopal church, under the conduct of the I. O. O. F. of which order he was a member. The service was one of the most beautiful and impressive ever held in Kenmare. After the services of the Odd Fellows, Rev. Ostergreen of Niobe, addressed the gathering in the Swedish language. Clark, and Dr. L. R. Critchfield. The services at the grave, in charge of Rev. W. A. Dunnett, acting chaplain, were indeed impressive, forty-one Odd Fellows clasping hands encircled the grave and in union bade their departed brother farewell. "Farewell brother, we hope to meet you in the Eternal Home." The flower offerings were many and beautiful. Emil Samuel Freeburg was born in Willmar, Minn., May 18, 1887, and was the third son of Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Freeburg. He came to Kenmare with his parents when he was but a boy 12 years old in 1899 and lived here up to the time of his death, which occurred December 14th in Limerick, Sask., Canada, where he had been called to visit his brother Victor, who was seriously ill. He had been gone from his home two weeks when word was received of his sudden death through heart failure. Mr. Freeburg was united in marriage in June 1907 to Miss Olive Brown. To this union five children were born, the oldest being 10 years and the youngest only nine months. Emil had been an employee of the Soo railroad for over six years and was so employed at the time of his death. He leaves to mourn the death of a kind and loving husband and father a widow and five children, his aged parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Freeburg of Kenmare, N. Dak.; two brothers, A. O. Freeburg of Minneapolis, V. E. Freeburg of Limerick, Sask. and one sister, Mrs. Samuel Nelson of Willmar, Minn., together with other relatives and many friends.
