Funeral services will be Thursday (12-23-1971) at 2 p.m.in the First St. Paul's Lutheran Church for Mrs. Emma Flohr, 77, of 1320 West Sixteenth. Survived by 11 nieces and nephews including Mrs. Robert Knickrehm of Denver and Ervin Gartner of Glenvil. Dr. Leeland C. Soker and the Rev. Thomas E. Holcombe will officiate. It too is undated, but it appears to have been written sometime after Mrs. Flohr's will and been probated. --------------------------------------------- Good News Today === MRS. EMMA FLOHR LEGACY RECEIVED! On Sunday morning, September 24th in Special Presentation Service before our alter a wonderful legacy gift was publicly acknowledged! Through the mail a check for $16,000 to First St. Paul's Lutheran Church had been received with word that an additional amount of approximately $6,000 would be forthcoming upon completion of the estate! Thus a total of $22,000 was provided for in the will of Mrs. Emilie Flohr, one of our faithful ladies for many years! What a beautiful, substantial testimony for her faith and life! The congregation at both services paused in her memory and joined in prayers of gratefulness to God for this inspiring example of Christian Stewardship! It is planned that not one dollar of this will be used for the regular Current expenses of our church, but it has been placed in the Expansion Fund to be used in the long time strengthening of our Ministry and our expanded facilities! --------------------------------------------------------- The obituary and pink paper church bulletin , above – for Mrs. Emilie "Emma" Flohr - were from clippings with no publication names or dates. They ware in a family scrapbook that my uncle, Mr. Richard Orson Brunner, kept in his home in Hastings NB. This is how I am related to Emilie "Emma" Steinblock Flohr (1894-1971). Her husband was: Dirk Wilhelm "Dick" Flohr (1888 – 1950). His sister was: Ida Gerdes Flohr Hinrichs (1886 – 1973). Her daughter was: Wilma Esther Hinrichs Brunner (1926 - 1995). Her husband was: Richard Orson Brunner (1920 - 1997). The last two are my aunt and uncle. Richard Orson Brunner was my father’s only sibling. My father’s name was Harley Myron Brunner. They grew up in Rushford Minnesota. Read less
