Died March 1st, 1890, age 42 years, 1 month and 7 days. She was married to Vincent P. Newman, Nov. 1st, 1866, in the same room and same house she died in. She leaves her husband and four children to mourn her loss, two children having preceded her to the better world; the younger of whom little Katie was laid to rest just fifteen months before her.... Read More	Valley Falls Register, 7 March 1890 OBITUARY Emily A. Newman was born in Cabell county, West Virginia, January 25, 1848. Moved with her parents to Valley Falls, Kansas, in 1860. Died March 1st, 1890, age 42 years, 1 month and 7 days. She was married to Vincent P. Newman, Nov. 1st, 1866, in the same room and same house she died in. She leaves her husband and four children to mourn her loss, two children having preceded her to the better world; the younger of whom little Katie was laid to rest just fifteen months before her. She also leaves five brothers and two sisters. She was a worthy member of the M. E. Church. She was held in great esteem by the whole com- munity, as was evinced by the large funeral concourse. A sermon was preached by Rev. Foresman, assisted by Rev. Geiger. Mrs. Newman was known and universally admired, as a true and devoted wife, and mother, a kind and generous neighbor. In all the relations of life she was "one of the best of women." Socially she was compan-ionable and lovely. But she is gone and oh! how we shall miss her. The sun shines as brightly as before, yet the sod rests heavily upon Mother. May her family find consolation in the Apostle, and sorrow not as those who have no hope. L.R.Y.
