Description	:	Mrs. Emily Weatherington, whose maiden name was Emily Elizabeth Waring, was born at Havana, New York, Sept. 4, 1843. When a child she moved with her parents to Illinois. Was married at Dixon, July 4, 1859, to Isaac Weatherington. The following year moved to southern Iowa, and twenty eight years ago in 1874 they became residents of Grand Junction, Iowa. She was mother of nine children. Charles A. of Galveston, Texas, Mrs. Ed Elmore of Paton, James K. of Sioux City, Ernest M. of Des Moines, Mrs. Fritz E. Ingleson of Dawson, Mrs. Chas. Swalley, Misses Cora and Alwilda of Grand Junction and Zoa A. deceased. These mourn the irreparable loss of a devoted mother. Her sphere of usefulness was pre-eminently in the home and she was devoted to the interests of her household. Deep and abiding was her affections for her children and grand children. Their interests and welfare was her supreme thoughts in life and it was her presence that ever proved the magnet to draw them to the home circle. How desolate and strange that home will be without her. During all these years of residence she was strongly bound to her neighbors by many ties of sincere and kindly friendship that will cause her to be greatly missed. Mrs. Weatherington was reared under religious influences. Twelve years ago in the autumn of 1890, she made a public profession of her faith in Christ and united with the presbyterian church, in whose communion and fellowship she died. She loved the public worship of the sanctuary. She had been in failing health for some time, and her last illness was characterized by sever suffering. This was patiently born and Divine grace was given to her in the Dark Valley, even the light of God's presence. The end came on Saturday morning Nov. 1, 1902, at the age of 59 years. The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock and was largely attended, the church and couch casket being beautifully decorated with floral offerings. The funeral obsequies were in charge of her pastor, Rev. A.G. Martyn of Denison, a former pastor and friend of the family, his subject being "The Better Resurrection" giving the gospel hope of a blessed immortality and paying tribute to the memory of the deceased. The final leaving was peculiarly sad and touching as the large family circle clustered around the casket in Holy affection, and from thence to the cemetery, where mortal remains were committed to rest in the sweet hope of eternal life beyond. The aged husband and family have the sympathy of all in this sad hour of bereavement.
