Kline, a former resident of La Porte City, died in Long Beach, California, on Tuesday, January 22nd, and her body was shipped here for burial. Kline, a former resident of La Porte City, died in Long Beach, California, on Tuesday, January 22nd, and her body was shipped here for burial. It arrived Sunday morning and was taken to the home of Mr. Kline’s son, C.V. Kline, on west Main street. Funeral service was held at two o’clock Sunday afternoon and was conducted by Rev. C.D. James, pastor of the Methodist church. Appropriate numbers were sung by the Misses Ruth and Bessie Sawyer, accompanied by Mrs. C.A. Brust. The casket attendants were A.A. Robertson and five nephews of the deceased, Clyde Foss of Waterloo, M.G., S.W., and Ralph Foss of Jesup. Interment was made in the Kline lot in West View cemetery. Mrs. Emma Dacey came to La Porte City in 1906 and on December 11th. of that year was married to Albert T. Kline. From that time the family home was here until about ten years ago when Mr. and Mrs. Kline went to Long Beach, Cal., and have since resided in that city. She was almost ninety years old and had been in failing health for the past few years. The deceased is survived by two sons by a former marriage, Wilbur Dacey of Chicago and Percy Dacey of Oklahoma; one sister Mrs. E.B. Foss of La Porte City. Mr. Kline did not accompany the remains here because he was not well enough to make the trip.
