The statement that is posted on this site about a 92 year old uncle saying a mistake was made about Emily's name is confusing. The way it reads, infers that the mistake was the name Lane, however, the mistake was calling her Williams instead of Lane. Emily was a Lane, b. 20 Dec 1817 to Lawrence Lane and Unknown Fleming. She was sister to my 2X Ggrandfather, Jacob Lane, b. 1802 in PA. Lawrence Lane was a pioneer settler in Mason Co., VA (now WV) and built the first cabin where Ravenswood now stands. He arrived in Mason Co. about 1809 and appears on the Census for 1810. Emily was born in 1817.
