Description	:	Emily Russell was born at South Molton, Devonshire, England, on April 23, 1844, and passed away during a brief stay in Fairmont, Nebraska, on Wednesday night, December 16, 1931, aged eighty-seven years, seven months and twenty-three days. At about the age of ten years, she and her brothers, Edwin, since deceased and William were brought by their parents from their native England to make their home in Canada, where they lived for a year or so, and then moved to the United States. Read More	Emily Russell was born at South Molton, Devonshire, England, on April 23, 1844, and passed away during a brief stay in Fairmont, Nebraska, on Wednesday night, December 16, 1931, aged eighty-seven years, seven months and twenty-three days. At about the age of ten years, she and her brothers, Edwin, since deceased and William were brought by their parents from their native England to make their home in Canada, where they lived for a year or so, and then moved to the United States. After living for some time at Bradyville, Iowa, Emily was united in marriage to A.C. Pratt and the couple took up a homestead near Nebraska, City, Nebraska. They eventually went to California, where Mr. Pratt died in 1911. In 1913, Mrs. Pratt was married to J.D. Walrath of Edmond, Kansas. Earlier in life she became a member of the Congregational church. Besides her husband, Mrs. Walrath is survived by two sisters and two brothers: W.A. Russell of Kansas City, Missouri; Mrs. Sam Guthrie of Fairmont; Mrs. Ella Malone of Douglas, Nebraska; and J.E. Russell of Wellington, British Columbia. Funeral services were held in the Fairmont Methodist church on Saturday afternoon, December 19, conducted by the pastor, Rev. J. Henry Stitt. With Mrs. A.A. Ashby at the piano, hymns were sung by Mesdames Adams, Shoemaker and McFadden and Elwood Bender. Interment was made in Fairmont Cemetery. Those from a distance attending the funeral were Melvin Guthrie, McCook; Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Malone, Mr. and Mrs. R.L. Malone, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Malone, Mr. and Mrs. Heber Malone, Douglas, Nebr.; Mrs. H.J. McDaniel, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Malone, Mr. Younkin, Dorchester; Mr. and Mrs. Dale Russell and Mrs. Cynthia Kenney of York, Fillmore Chronicle (Fairmont) December 24th, 1931 page 3. --------------------------------- Born in Devonshire, England (town not listed) Married A.C.Pratt who died in 1911.
