Verla entered the world 9th in a family of 12, with a singular purpose to share and show her love, serving and blessing the lives of all she encountered. From her earliest years, Verla was known by family and friends to be kind, considerate and selfless to a fault - always putting the needs of others ahead of her own. A gifted self - taught musician, able to play any tune by ear, one of her greatest joys, to lifes last moment, was to share songs of the heart with her family. With the voice of an angel, she enriched the lives of thousands who heard her sing and play piano, organ and accordion. Verla was also a talented artist and song writer and exhibited a flair for home making and decorating. She served a church mission to Palmyra, New York and continued that mission until August 6, 2010, fervently sharing her keen knowledge and living testimony of the gospel. Mom lived her sermons with daily purpose and conviction In her presence one experienced godliness personified - love, compassion, humility and integrity. She was a choice spirit - a to ken of God's love for us. Possessing the essence of motherhood, Verla raised 10 children, with her whole soul and being by the side of love of her life, Steve. Bereft of her physical presence we who remain, remember her teachings and selfless service. We know with certainty, though her song - filled voice is silent here, it now mingles with the choirs of heaven. Verla's greatest desire was to become like God and return to his presence. Everything she said or did was evidence that "The greatest among us is the servant of all." Emerson's words appropriately sum up her life: "That person is a success who has lived well, loved much and laughed often." Dear mother, wife, sister, you will always hold the fondest place in our hearts. Emily Verla Blackmore Kapcsos is survived by her husband of 57 years, Steve, 10 children and respective spouses, 76 grand children and 47 great - grandchildren. What a legacy.
