She passed away January 8, 1936, at Ohiowa, Neb. The deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Rippe. In infancy she was baptized in the name of the Triune God and after instruction in the faith of her parents, was confirmed March 25, 1877, in St. John's Evangelical Church at Washington, Ill. In 1880 she came with her parents to Nebraska, making their home near Ohiowa. here she became acquainted with William Meyer, with whom she became united in holy wedlock, October, 31, 1884. This union was blessed with nine children, five sons and four daughters. One son died in infancy. All the other children lament the departure of their parents. both Mr. and Mrs. Meyer worked hard, were very economical and God blessed them with earthly gifts and they prospered. In 1926 they retired from farm work and moved to Ohiowa to spend the evening of their life quietly. September 19, 1929, Mr. Meyer was called suddenly from this life, leaving his wife in great sorrow. Her children helped where ever they could, comforted her, but the most consolation she received from the Lord, her Savior. She was always glad when her pastor came to bring her the bread of life and to pray with her. The last few years brought more weakness and ailments. Finally she received the care of a nurse. Everything possible to give relief was done. Wednesday, January 8, at 9:55 in the evening the Lord called her from this life to the life beyond. She reached the age of 72 years, 3 months and 1 day. The children surviving are William Meyer of Ohiowa, Mrs. Minnie Schroeder of Strang, Henry Meyer of Ohiowa, Herman Meyer of Ohiowa, Rudolph Meyer of Ohiowa, Mrs. Rosa Weber of Tobias, Mrs. Elsie Bornschlegl of Ohiowa, and Mrs. Adeline Most of Ohiowa, also twenty-six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; on e brother, Louis Rippe of Geneva; one sister, Mrs. Mary Sieckmann of Ohiowa, besides many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the home of the deceased at 1:15 p.m. and from there the funeral procession went to the South Lutheran Church, where services were held in German and English. The senior choir sang four appropriate hymns, two in German and "I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say" and "Peace, Perfect Peace" in English. Burial was held in the South Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were the four sons and two sons-in-law, John Weber and Louis Bernschlegl. The beautiful floral offerings were carried by Mrs. Henry Folkerts, Mrs. Will Langhorst and Mrs. F. J.
