Adamson passed away at her home in Albion, Monday night, April 1st after a short illness, her death occuring just nine days after the death of Mr. Adamson. Emma Eleanor Hodge, daughter of George and Cordelia Hodge, was born in LaCrosse county, Wisconsin, on August 27, 1868. At the age of nine she moved with her parents to Nebraska, living on a farm near Keats Ko Tooee, an Indian trading post near Genoa. Coming here in the early days she experienced the mingled joys and hardships of pioneer life, finally enjoying the fruits of her work in the happiness of her home with her husband and family. On December 18, 1893 she was married to Thomas W. Adamson who preceded her in death on March 23. To this union six children were born, two preceding her in death, an infant son and a daughter, Clara Viola, at the age of eleven years. She leaves to mourn her passing four children, Mrs. Esther Shaver of Dexter, Michigan; Frank of Albion, Nebr.; Mrs. Mae Koeppen of Dexter, Michigan; and Mrs. Grace Evans of Albion, and eight grandchildren, two sisters and three brothers. After their marriage they lived on what was known as the Lewis farm near Genoa for a few years, then in 1901 moved to the farm home eight and one-half miles west of Albion where she lived until in 1919 when she moved with her family to the home in Albion. She lived there until she departed this life at the age of seventy-one years, seven months and four days. She was a member of the Christian Church of Albion, which she faithfully attended, and always tried to follow the teaching of her Lord and Master. Her greatest desire was that her children follow the same teachings. Funeral services will be held at the church of Christ Friday afternoon at three o’clock with Rev. Bernard Smith officiating.
