ADAMSON PASSED AWAY ON SATURDAY Had Been In Failing Health For Some Time; Funeral Rites Tuesday T. W. Adamson passed away at his home in Albion Saturday, March 23, 1940. He had been in failing health for several months. Thomas William Adamson, son of John and Esther Adamson, was born March 10, 1866 in Atchison County, Mo., one-half mile from what is now Phelps City. Living there a number of years he moved with his family to Stockton, Kansas, where he lived until he grew to manhood. As a young man he came to Genoa, Nance County, Nebr. There he met Emma Hodge with whom he was joined in holy matrimony on December 18, 1893. To this union six children were born, two preceded him in death, an infant son and daughter Clara Viola at the age of eleven years. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife and four children, Mrs. Esther Shaver of Dexter, Michigan; Frank of Albion, Nebraska; Mrs. Mae Koeppen of Dexter, Michigan and Mrs. Grace Evans of Albion, Nebraska, and eight grandchildren, two sisters and three brothers. After their marriage they resided on what was known as the Lewis farm near Genoa until 1901 when he purchased a quarter section of virgin prairie 8 ½ miles west of Albion in Boone County where he established the home for his family. He resided there until 1919 when he moved with his family to the home in Albion where he lived until he departed this life March 23, at the age of seventy-four years, thirteen days. He accepted Jesus as his personal Savior and endeavored to lead an exemplary life for his family and neighbors and was a member of the Church of Christ of Albion, Nebraska which he faithfully attended until his health failed. He was a devoted husband and father, always patient, kind and true. He made friends wherever he went and brought comfort and cheer to those who knew him. Funeral services were held at the Christian church Tuesday March 26, at 2:30 o’cloc, Rev. Bernard Smith officiating. Interment was made in Rose Hill cemetery.
