Description	:	By the time she died in 1921, like many women during that time, Estelle had given birth to 12 children. But the decade between 1910 and 1920 was a particularly difficult time. In 1913 6 mo old Edwin Howard died; in 1915 3 mo old Joseph Harry died. In Jan of 1916 Estelle's father died followed by her mother in June 1917. In October 1918 Estelle's brother Boyd died at Camp Hancock in Augusta Georgia, where is was preparing to go fight in World War II. Even for a mountain woman like Estelle, such grief... In October 1918 Estelle's brother Boyd died at Camp Hancock in Augusta Georgia, where is was preparing to go fight in World War II. Even for a mountain woman like Estelle, such grief would weaken her body. Little wonder that in Sep of 1921, Estelle succombed to the illness that the doctor would write on her death certificate: Peritonitis and Colitis. When she died, her youngest child, Oscar Ross Bryson, was just one month old. Fortunately he had many sisters who would be with him as he grew up.
