Description	:	On December 25, 1919 Nora married Lester Wilson of Selica. Their wedding must have been a joyous time, for the Ross family had suffered a series of tragedies since 1914. Two of Nora's infant nephews had died and Nora's father, mother and brother had died. But only a year and half after Nora's marriage to Lester Wilson the Ross and Bryson families would gather at Cathy's Creek church for another sad event. But only a year and half after Nora's marriage to Lester Wilson the Ross and Bryson families would gather at Cathy's Creek church for another sad event. Estelle and Oat's last child, Oscar Ross, was born on August 21, 1921. A month after his birth, on September 1, Estelle died. She had peritonitis and colitis. Oat was left with ten children; he must make a living for them. Nora Bethany became the matriarch of the Bryson children. A year later Nora and Les started their own family--L.C., Nora May and Ross Wilson, but she became the beloved "Aunt Nora" to all of Estelle and Oat's children. She made beautiful, finely crafted quilts, and every one of the Bryson children and grandchildren received one as a wedding gift from her. Next to the Cathey's Creek cemetery is "Nora Road" which winds up the mountain to their son Ross' home. Les passed away June 12, 1989. Aunt Nora was born in 1896 and lived to be 102 years old, finally taking her rest on February 8, 1998. She and Les are buried in Cathey's Creek cemetery. The beautiful young bride became a legend in the Ross, Bryson and Wilson families and to all who knew her. Aunt Nora is the epitome of a strong Mountain Woman, honed by grief and rewarded with devotion.
