She was married to James Milton Ruble on Aug. 22, 1872, and to this union were born seven children, four of whom preceded their mother in death, Pearl, Laura, Fred and an infant. EMMA JANE RUBLE Mrs. Emma Jane Ruble, daughter of Mordicai and Jane Davis, was born in Lucas county, Iowa, on Nov. 25th, 1856, and departed this life at Chariton, Iowa, on Oct. 13th, 1933, aged 76 years, 10 months and 16 days. She was married to James Milton Ruble on Aug. 22, 1872, and to this union were born seven children, four of whom preceded their mother in death, Pearl, Laura, Fred and an infant. All her life she has lived in Lucas county. Very early in life she became a devout Christian and united with the Arnold United Brethren church. Mrs. Ruble was a faithful Christian, a humble follower of Christ, an earnest seeker of truth, and therefore a student and lover of God's word, especially when her children were small. She was a notable example of Christian motherhood. She was the last of her parents' family. Surviving her are her three children: John H. Ruble, of Chariton; Mrs. Minnie Vawter, of Clear Lake; and Lon S. Ruble, of Indianola. The funeral services were held at the Dunshee Funeral Home, Rev. O. O. Hobson officiating, on Sunday afternoon at one o'clock, and the body was laid to rest in the Arnold cemetery. Obituary courtesy of Charles M. Wright
