She had been a resident of Fremont 16 years. Born in Cherokee, Iowa, Sept. 17, 1869, she came to Nebraska with her parents as a child and homesteaded near Wayne. She married Joseph Lewis at Wisner and the couple had two sons, Clarence and Edward Lewis. On March 2, 1908, she married Julius Nissen at Wheeler, S. D. They farmed near Bristow seven years and then moved to Bonesteel, S. D., where they lived until 1934 when they came to Fremont. Survivors include the widower; a son, Edward of Fremont; a brother, Abe Dolph of Wakefield; a sister, Mrs. Cora Lewis of Calif.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted by Maj. Kay Wilkins of the Salvation Army Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Fred Bader Funeral Home. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery. Emma was married four times, Clarence was from Emma's first marriage to Thomas Moran. Clarence just took on the name of "Lewis" as a little boy as his mothers third marriage to Joseph Lewis. Emma's second marriage was to Christ John Heiser, they had two children, Fredie John Heiser 1893-1972 and Louis E. Heiser 1894-1941. Clarence Earl Lewis was my grandfather.
