Tom Dettmer officiating. Casket Bearers: Rich Berger, Jerry Hansen, Ray Dirksen, Jim Vollmer, Don Black and Donald Nielsen. Burial will be at First Reformed Church Cemetery, Fostoria, with Warner Funeral home of Spencer in charge of arrangements. Emma Johanna Dirksen, the daughter of Philip and Eva (Schuler) Peneseler, was born December 23, 1905, in Frankfurt, Germany. Emma came to the United States on June 19, 1948, and became a citizen on October 10, 1955. She married George Dirksen on August 24, 1948, aat the Everly Reformed Church. George and Emma farmed in the Everly and Royal area and later moved to Spencer. Emma was a homemaker and worked at Miller's Hamburger Shop in Spencer. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer. Mrs. Dirksen was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and three sisters. She is survived by one brother-in-law, Edward Dirksen and his wife, Dorothy, of Estherville; and one sister-in-law, Louise Hagemeyer and her husband, George, of Clara City, Minnesota
