Description	:	Emma June (Hofer) Tschetter was born June 21, 1913, and as of a stroke, went to be with her Lord on January 30, 2013 at the age of 99 years, 7 months, and 9 days. Emma June was born in Freeman, South Dakota to Michael and Sahra Hofer, the second of 5 children. Her father went to North Dakota where he had homesteaded a few years before. Read More	Emma June (Hofer) Tschetter was born June 21, 1913, and as of a stroke, went to be with her Lord on January 30, 2013 at the age of 99 years, 7 months, and 9 days. Emma June was born in Freeman, South Dakota to Michael and Sahra Hofer, the second of 5 children. Her father went to North Dakota where he had homesteaded a few years before. He sold that land and purchase some land near Chaseley. Her father returned to Freeman and told his family they were moving to North Dakota. In 1915, the small family moved by train to North Dakota. Emma finished grade school and attended high school close to home in Hurdsfield. It was during this time her future husband came to teach grade school and lived in her parent's home, After high school graduation, Emma attended Freeman Junior College where she earned her teaching certificate. She taught school near the Tschetter farm and the spark of romance was kindled. As a result, Sam and Emma were married on September 17, 1938 at Bethel Church. God blessed Sam and Emma with a daughter, Sharon Lynne, and then their son, Sylvester Samuel. In those years, Emma partnered with Sam in the farm work, made numerous meals for hired men, kept a thriving garden, and managed the activities of their two children. Emma spiritual pilgrimage was filled with faithful service to her church, community and family. During her years on the farm Sam would host visiting missionaries, conference guests and traveling friends. Emma June's ministry in church include teaching children's Sunday school, Vacation Bible School and singing in the church choir. When Sam passed away in 1985, Emma June continued to live on the farm with Sylvester. In 2004, Emma June entered SunQuest Health Care Center in Huron where she received excellent care. In October of 2012, Emma June moved to Westview Healthcare Center in Sheridan, Wyoming to be within a half mile of her family. After a wonderful weekend with her family, Emma June suffered a stroke Sunday evening and went to be with her Lord Wednesday noon in Sheridan Memorial Hospital with several family members and medical staff present. Those who remain to rejoice in Emma June Tschetter's hevenly reward are her son, Sylvester Tschetter, her daughter, Sharon Plett and husband Phil; granddaughters, Vicki Jost and husband Cory, Lisa Kutz and husband Daryl: six great grandchildren; sister Edna Baltzer and husband Robert; sister-in-law, Maggie (Gilbert) Hofer and many nieces and nephews. Predeceasing Emma June are her husband, Sam M Tschetter, a granddaughter, Rhonda June Plett, and three brothers, Peter, Albert and Gilbert Hofer.
