Description	:	Emma L Jorgensen, passed away July 3, 1988, at the Alpine Village of Verdigre,at the age of 89 years. Services were held 10 a.m. Wednesday, at the Lutheran church in Niobrara. Rev. Lloyd W. Anderson officiated the service. Esther Nielsen was the organist, Ilene Therolf and Mary Snowden sang. Burial will be in L'Eau Qui Court Cemetery in Niobrara. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith at Eden Valley Lutheran Church near Plainview. She attended Plum Valley school (near Center, NE), in Knox County. On Feb. 21, 1920, Emma married Joseph Jorgensen in Winnetoon, NE. Four children were born to Joe & Emma: Laura, Cletus, Janice, and Bernice. They lived in Stanton County five years, then moved to Knox county where they farmed. In 1935 they moved into Niobrara where they spent the remainder of their lives. Joe was employed at the school as a janitor. Emma also had various jobs at the school and in a restaurant. She was a past presient and charter member of V. F. W. Auxiliary #4834. She always gave a helping hand to those in need and was a faithful member of the Niobrara Lutheran Church from the time she moved into Niobrara. Emma enjoyed gardening, her card club and the Homemaker's Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe in 1953 and one son,Cletus, in 1973; one sister; and four brothers. Survivors include three daughters, Laura (Mrs. Marvin)Knutsen of Lincoln, Bernice (Mrs. Robert)Schaffer of Lincoln and Janice (Mrs. Don) Walters of Omaha; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
