EMMA HOLSTEIN Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Holstein, 97, who resided at the Carroll Health Center for the past 2 1/2 years, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Carroll with Rev. Donald Wuertz officiating. A family prayer service will be held at 1:15 p.m. Saturday at the church. The casket will be moved to the church at noon Saturday to lie in state until time of the services. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 4 p.m. Friday. Mrs. Holstein, daughter of Henry and Mary Rehr Meinke, was born on Nov. 27, 1879 in Germany. Her marriage to Gustav Holstein took place on Oct. 20, 1904 at Crete, Neb. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and at the time of her death was the oldest member of St. Paul's congregation. She was a long-time Carroll resident and prior to residing at the Carroll Health Center, she had made her home with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Holstein, 1002 N. Clark St., Carroll. Surviving are five sons, Louis and August of Omaha, Neb.; Walter of South Bend, Ind.; Elmer of Hayward, Calif., and Edward of Carroll; a sister-in-law, Clara Meinke of Norfolk, Neb.; nine grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1944 and a daughter, Mrs. Leo (Elsie) Berens.
