In October 1853 her parents removed to Iowa and settled in Riverton Township, Floyd County, about three miles northwest of Nashua where she grew to young womanhood. She attended the public schools of her township and later attended several terms at Bradford Academy. She also taught several terms of school in the vicinity of Nashua. Parish was born in Walworth Co Wisconsin, Dec 16 1852. In October 1853 her parents removed to Iowa and settled in Riverton Township, Floyd County, about three miles northwest of Nashua where she grew to young womanhood. She attended the public schools of her township and later attended several terms at Bradford Academy. She also taught several terms of school in the vicinity of Nashua. At the age of about 20 years she was united in marriage with John Weber. Two children were born of this marriage, Mrs Nettie Allensworth of Waterloo and Ray E. Weber of Sterling, Illinois, who both survive her. On August 5, 1897, she was again united in marriage with B.A. Billings of this city who also survives her. Over two years ago she suffered a severe stroke of paralysis from which she never fully recovered, her entire left side remaining partially useless until the time of her death. Several months ago that dread disease, dropsy, intervened and for the last few months of her life she was an intense sufferer. Death came at last suddenly and unexpectedly from heart failure on July 8, 1907. Shortly before her second marriage she became converted and united with the Congregational Church at Nashua, of which she was a member until the time of her death. She was an honored member of the W.R.C. of Nashua and while in health took a deep interest in the work of that organization and kept in touch with their plans and work after she was disabled by disease. Mrs Billings was naturally of a calm temperament and seldom, if ever, yielded to anger and passions. She was a good wife and a good mother and is deeply mourned by those whom she leaves behind. Her mother, Mariah Parish, survives her, being now an invalid. One brother, F.L. Parish, of Chicago, and a sister, Mrs R.E. Milligan, of Nashua, also survives her. Another brother, C.F. Parish, preceded her over the dark river but a few months ago.
