Description	:	Emma Marie Fincham, daughter of John Ruther and Johanna (Merkel) Ruther, was born on a farm near Grand Junction on Dec. 7, 1894. She passed away July 21, 1966, at Greene County Hospital. Emma was baptized in early infancy. At age 18, she renewed her baptismal vow and was confirmed by Pastor Carl Jipp of Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden. On Jan. 26, 1916, she married Thomas Fincham at her parents' home. Read More	Emma Marie Fincham, daughter of John Ruther and Johanna (Merkel) Ruther, was born on a farm near Grand Junction on Dec. 7, 1894. She passed away July 21, 1966, at Greene County Hospital. Emma was baptized in early infancy. At age 18, she renewed her baptismal vow and was confirmed by Pastor Carl Jipp of Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden. On Jan. 26, 1916, she married Thomas Fincham at her parents' home. They had two daughters, June and Carol, and one son, Earl. Their first ten years were spent in Minnesota before moving to a farm near Paton where they lived until their retirement 15 years ago. She made her home in Rippey since that time. She then transferred her church membership to Trinity Lutheran Church at Perry, where she also was a member of the Women's Missionary Society. Emma had been in failing health the past six years. Two weeks ago, she suffered a severe stroke. Honoring her life are her children: June (Elmer) Wiepert of Jefferson, Carol (Lawrence) Seemann of Woodward, and Earl of Paton, daughter-in-law Frieda Fincham; eleven grandchildren: Earlene and Edwin Mooney Evelyn and Debbie Fincham Thomas, John and Ellen Wiepert Larry, Cheri, Lynn and Lon Seeman two brothers: John Ruther of Omaha and August Ruther of Boxholm; three sisters: Ann Shoemaker and Elsie Herrick of Rippey; Martha Juhl of Dana Many relatives and friends She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister Ernestine and two brothers: Fritz and Ernest. Her funeral was July 24 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Perry. Interment is in Paton Twp Cemetery. Slininger Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
