Read More	ESTEEMED RESIDENT DIED AT HOME HERE Mrs. Emma Crockett Claimed By Death Saturday Buried Monday In Mariner's Cemetery At noon on Saturday last death was a visitor to a Crisfield home, claiming another of this city's oldest and most esteemed residents, Mrs. Emma Crockett, who at her death was eighty years of age. Though she had long been in ill health and her death was not entirely unexpected, it nevertheless came as a great shock to all. Mrs. Crockett, who was one of the pioneer residents of this city, was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Marshall, of this section, and was the widow of the late Carey Crockett. One of Mrs. Crockett's major interests in life was her home and family and she made the caring for them her life's work. She tackled this job ever with the interest and enthusiasm of one who knows they have a certain task cut out for them and strives to accomplish it to the best of their ability. In her efforts she was highly successful and made for her children and her husband a home which they were always glad to come to. She was a sweet, motherly type of woman and always proved a splendid neighbor and friend. In the death of Mrs. Crockett this community has truly lost one of its most noble characters. The memory of this dear citizen of Crisfield will live long in the hearts of all those who knew her, for to know Mrs. Crockett was instantly to love her as hers was such a sweet, lovable disposition. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Johnson Evans and Mrs. Jacob Bradshaw, both of this city. Funeral services, at which a large number of sorrowing relatives and friends gathered to pay final tribute to the memory of one who was near and dear to them, were held on Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from her late home on Main street. Rev. J. R. Bicking, pastor of the Immanuel Methodist Church, officiated at the final rites. Interment was in the Mariner's cemetery. The Crisfield Times, Crisfield, Maryland, Friday, April 18, 1941, p. 4 Emma C. Marshall, 19, married Charles Edward Ward, 21, on 18 Oct 1877 in Somerset County MD. They were the parents of two daughters, Cora and Lille Ward. Charles Edward Ward died bef. 1900 when Emma was listed as a widow. On 15 Sep 1901, Emma Ward, 40w, married Charles J. Johnson, 60w, in Somerset County MD. In 1905, Emma was mentioned in her mother's obit as Mrs. Santy Johnson. On 25 Mar 1917, Mrs. Emma Johnson (60), widow of the late James Johnson, married Stephen L. Adams (70) of Marusmsco, at the Mariners M.P. Church parsonage. In 1920, Emma Adams, widowed mother-in-law, is living with her daughter, Cora and husband Jacob T. Bradshaw. Emma Crockett, daughter of John Marshall and Kessie Bradshaw, and widow of Carey Crockett, died 12 Apr 1941 at Crisfield, MD. Burial was in Mariners Cemetery.
