Her companion, Norval High, and one daughter, Opal, preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her going one son, Edward High; one daughter, Geneva High; two half brothers, Ernest Mullenax Flint Stone, Maryland and Claude Mullenax of Charleston, West Virginia: and three grandsons Norval Ryder, Ralph High, and Edward Eugene High, S 1-C, U.S.N. Guam, and many other relatives and friends. Her life was one sunny ray of cheerfulness. Funeral services were conducted at the Union Chapel Church by her pastor, Rev. R.O. Hipes, with Rev. A.E. Johnson of the Presbyterian Church assisting. Interment was in the Union Chapel Cemetery. Highland Recorder August 24, 1947 The Hightown community was saddened by the death of Mrs. Emma High, widow of the late Norval High, at her home Saturday night. Mrs. High had been in ill health for a long time, and in a critical condition for several weeks. A son and daughter, also three grand-children survive her.
