Description	:	Highland Recorder January 5, 1934 MRS LESTER RYDER DIES Mrs. Opal Elizabeth High Ryder died Friday, December 22, 1933 at her home near Crabbottom, Va., after a short illness of brain fever. Mrs. Ryder was subject to severe headaches and suffered an unusually severe attack Wednesday about 7 o’clock; became unconscious and shortly thereafter went into convulsions from which she never rallied. Read More	Highland Recorder January 5, 1934 MRS LESTER RYDER DIES Mrs. Opal Elizabeth High Ryder died Friday, December 22, 1933 at her home near Crabbottom, Va., after a short illness of brain fever. Mrs. Ryder was subject to severe headaches and suffered an unusually severe attack Wednesday about 7 o’clock; became unconscious and shortly thereafter went into convulsions from which she never rallied. Her young son, Norval, being the only one with her at the time she became seriously ill, called the neighbors for help and bravely stood by his mother until assistance arrived. Mrs. Ryder 31, was born May 21, 1902, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norval High of Crabbottom. Being of a loving jolly nature she won friends wherever she went, as witnessed by the unusually large crowd attending her funeral. Mrs. Ryder is survived by her husband, Lester Ryder, a son, Norval Andrew, her parents Mr. and Mrs. Norval High, a twin sister, Mrs Geneva Puffenbarger and one bother, Edward High. Services were held Sunday at 2 o’clock from! Union Chapel by her pastor, Rev. Mack Thomasson assisted by Rev. A. E. Johnson.
