Description	:	Mrs. Floyd [Emma Neta] Middlebrook, 71, a well-known citizen of Corydon passed away at 1:30 o'clock Monday morning at Wayne County Hospital. She suffered a heart attack Thursday followed later with a stroke. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Roland Greenlee [mother's name was Malinda Ellen Guinn] of Allerton. Neta graduated from Allerton High School and was attending a collage at Oskaloosa when she and Floyd were married [on Feb. 16, 1921]. They were parents of two sons, Lee and Merton. Mrs. and Mrs. Middlebrook lived in Wayne County all their married life and owned various businesses on Corydon square. She transferred her membership from Nazarene Church to the United Methodist Church in Corydon. Left to mourn her passing are her husband, Floyd; two sons, Lee of Arcadia, California; Merton of Corydon and daughters-in-law Barbara and Merilyn; one brother Pearl Greenlee of Humeston; two sisters, Wilma Stevenson of Torrence, California and Marie Coffey of Corydon; four grandsons, Dennis Middlebrook of Corydon, Private First Class Randy Middlebrook of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; Larry Middlebrook in the Navy at Point Mugu, California and Charles Middlebrook of Arcadia; also four great grandsons, Keith Middlebrook, Kenneth Middlebrook and Mark Middlebrook, all living in California and Dennis Michael of Corydon. Funeral services under the arrangement of Wolf Funeral Home were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 20, 1972 from the United Methodist Church in Corydon, Iowa with the Rev. Lawrence Jones officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Larry Radcliff, vocalist and Mrs. Dennis Barker, organist. Pallbearers were Victory Lacey, Junior Bardwell, Jay Gibbs, Burdette Hotchkiss, Donald Greenlee and Edward Huston. Interment was in Corydon Cemetery.
