Elton Wilson and burial was in Grace Hill cemetery. She leaves to mourn her death besides her family three brothers, Geo, Charley and David Hamm all of this city, and four sisters, Mrs. Cora Lowe of Numa, Mrs. Jennie Houdesheldt, Mrs. Lee Walker and Mrs. Joe Carter of Cincinnati, besides a host of other relatives and many neighbors and friends to regret with sorrowing hearts the departure of this wife, mother and sister, and all extend their sympathy to the bereft husband and children. The people of this community were shocked Sunday morning when the sad news was heard of the sudden death of Mrs. Earl V (D) Clemens, which occurred about 11:30 the evening before. Mrs. Clemens, while subject to severe attacks of acute indigestion, was in her usual health and helped do the work, getting supper, washing dishes and was well as common all day. When bedtime came she told her husband she would take a pillow and lie on the rug and watch the people pass the door until her daughter Miss Callie came in. These were the last words she spoke to any one. Her daughter heard her making a strange sound and told her father she believed her mother was going to have another one of her spells. They tried to arouse her and called a physician but she had passed away before his arrival. Mrs. Clemens was formerly Miss Emma Olive Hamm. She was born July 21, 1878, in this community and was married to Earl Clemens January 22, 1899. Three children were born to this union, two sons, Herschel, 21, Francis, 16, and one daughter Miss Callie, 17, all at home.
